Right after its first referral contest that ended in October, Tesla announced a second round ending on December 31st. The Freemont carmaker needed an extra push to meet its 2016 sales figures.
If the grand prize of the first contest was a huge rebate on an exclusive Signature Series Tesla Model X, launched on September 28th, the second grand prize was a Model S P90D tailored to the winner’s tastes.
One winner per continent was planned for the referral contest. When the New Year arrived, a Canadian from Trois-Rivières (located halfway between Montreal and Quebec City) climbed to the top of the North American list.
In two months, he managed to refer 34 new clients to Tesla. His closest rival had 19. On top of his deluxe P90D, Sylvain Juteau won two VIP invitations to be part of the Model 3 launch in March, plus two VIP invitations to fly to Nevada before July for the inauguration of Tesla’s five-billion-dollar Gigafactory.
Our proud winner launched an electric vehicle website in 2010 and took the EV plunge a year later, first with a Chevrolet Volt, then a Ford Focus EV for his wife and finally a Tesla in 2013. He is the sole distributor of Elmec’s electric chargers produced in Quebec and a founding member of the Quebec Tesla Club that lobbies for electric cars.
You can read about his win and reaction on his English website EVandMore.com, He is currently attending the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas for the launch of the Chevrolet Bolt EV that he will try this week.
It’s official. We won a Ludicrous P90D Model S from Tesla
