Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, a pure supercar!

Lamborghini has had a longstanding reputation for making the most outlandish, exotic supercars on the planet. However, since the company was taken over by Audi just over a decade ago, many fanatics of the brand have argued that their new models seem a bit watered down.

While the Gallardo and the Aventador offer supercar performance, they are not an assault on your retina in the same way as the Countach or the Diablo was. To address the critics, Lamborghini rolled out a very limited-edition vehicle at this year’s Geneva Auto Show, called the Veneno.

Only three examples of this extraordinary coupe were going to be built, and all of them were pre-sold even before it was revealed. The immense interest the Veneno coupe generated convinced Lamborghini to come up with another version, which has just been introduced.

Called the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, it's an open version of the coupe that starred in Geneva. Keeping with its extreme theme, this is a full-time open vehicle, as there is no roof arrangement available for this $4.65-million car.

What it lacks in weather protection, it surely makes up for in performance. This two-seat roadster can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, and its top speed is rated at 355 km/h. It can accomplish such performance figures because this 1,490-kg machine is propelled by a 6.5L V12, which sends 750 hp to all four wheels.

Just nine examples of the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster will be produced, all of which are probably spoken for by the time you read this.
