Like the previous generation, the 2014 Honda Civic Si will be available as a sedan or a coupe. It will be powered by the same 2.4-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC engine that is currently found in the Honda Civic Si, but it will be a tad more powerful in the new model.
Indeed, Honda announced that an enhanced exhaust system as well as some adjustments to the engine increased the engine’s output to 205 horsepower instead of 201 as on the previous model. Torque has also increased to 174 pound-feet instead of 170.
The 2014 Honda Civic Si unveiled yesterday has a more aggressive style that sets it apart from the more mundane versions of the Civic. In addition, the coupe receives a unique grille as well as a slightly different front bumper designed to differentiate it from the sedan.
At the rear, the two versions get a diffuser that enhances the sporty look of the Civic Si as well as a larger spoiler. Finally, both the sedan and the coupe are equipped with new 18-inch wheels.
Honda did not disclose the price or the release date of the new 2014 Civic Si. The manufacturer is keeping this information for the Los Angeles Auto Show that gets under way in a few weeks.
