If the popularity of large SUVs has plummeted in recent years, it remains that these three models are of paramount importance for the American manufacturer that has dominated this particular segment since forever.
All three models will be built on the platform used by the new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. With the exception of the Yukon Denali, these three large SUVs will be powered by an EcoTEC 5.3 liter V8 engine delivering 355 horsepower. Denali models receive a more powerful 6.2-liter V8 good for 420 horsepower.
Outside, the main difference between this new generation and the former is found in the grille which is even more massive and imposing than it was before. The wheel arches have also been extended. Better aerodynamics improve fuel consumption and reduce wind noise.
According to General Motors, the interior of the new Suburban, Yukon, and Tahoe is much more luxurious and makes extensive use of elegant and high-quality materials. It is now possible to fold the second and third row (instead of removing them) to create a completely flat cargo area.
All three models will arrive in showrooms in spring 2014. Pricing as well as more comprehensive technical data will be announced later.
