It is always worrisome to lend the keys to your sportscar to someone else, and for good reason.

Sportscars are fast, agile machines that beg the driver to push on to experience the thrill they can provide. Trouble is, not everyone can handle a powerful sportscar properly, and even if the car is returned back in one piece, the wear and tear the car suffered while out of your care could cost you quite a bit down the line.

So, wouldn't it be nice to know how your car is being used when you have to give it to someone else, like a valet for instance?

Chevrolet certainly thinks so, and hence they have developed a new Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder, to help you keep an eye on your 2015 Corvette Stingray.

What the valet mode does is lock all the storage compartments in your vehicle and disables the infotainment system.

This system, which is activated through a unique four-digit code, also records HD video, in car audio, and vehicle data – such as speed, RPM, gear position and g-force – so you can later review how your car was used while out of your sight.

This system has another use also, you can record your own drive up your favorite road, or a track session on its eight-gigabyte memory card.

Valet Mode with Performance Date Recorder will be available on all 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7 models.
