BMW Motorrad and Dainese formed the long-term partnership with the intent to collaborate on the development of new clothing lines and accessories for motorcyclists. The first product to be born from this partnership will be a one-piece leather suit incorporating an airbag that deploys in the event of a collision.

This new suit uses as a starting point Dainese’s D-Air Protect System. BMW Motorrad and Dainese will first develop a racetrack-only leather suit which will be unveiled at the next EICMA Motorcycle Show held this November in Milan.

Both companies will then create a similar garment that will also incorporate an airbag but that will be destined for street use.  This new one-piece motorcycle suit should be available by 2015 once it has completed all safety tests.
