The concept was among the most talked-about cars in Los Angeles. Its massive silhouette was almost unanimously praised when it launched, but most agreed that the production version would probably be less striking.
A few days ago, the first images of the production version of the 2015 Subaru Legacy began to circulate and indeed, the new Legacy is certainly less spectacular than the concept. That being said, the production version’s modern and elegant styling certainly gives the Legacy a handsome appearance, just don’t expect it to turn any heads.
From the front, the 2015 Legacy displays an imposing grille and modern-looking bulging headlights. The arching roofline is a nice touch and gives the Legacy an almost four-door coupe look. Inside, the interior has been completely redesigned and is certainly livelier than the current generation of the Legacy.
Nothing has been confirmed in regards to the powertrain, bu Subaru will probably go into the Impreza and Forester’s parts bins in order to find the Legacy’s next engine. A 2.0 or 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine should propel the entry-level models while it will be interesting to see if Subaru offers a V6 or opts instead for a turbocharged engine for the most powerful versions of the 2015 Legacy.
